Kim Kardashian West Was Robbed at Gunpoint in Paris
Kardashian was in bed with her robe on when she heard boots going up the stairs. She saw the men through a sliding glass door and rolled off the bed in an attempt to call her bodyguard on her cell phone; however, before she could finish dialing, the men took the phone from her before zip-tying her hands with plastic handcuffs and duct-taping her.
When one of the men grabbed Kardashian by the ankles, she thought she was going to be raped, she told police. However, they duct-taped her ankles before putting her in the bathtub. TMZ reports that at this point, she started screaming and telling the robbers about her children.
The robbers, who spoke only French, wanted the new ring Kanye West had given Kardashian, worth $4.49 million. They also took a jewelry box worth $5.6 million, as well as two cell phones. Kardashian's friend had been sleeping in the downstairs bedroom during the commotion; when she heard Kim's screams, she locked herself in the bathroom and called the bodyguard, who arrived two minutes after the robbers left.
Kanye West ended his headlining set at the Meadows Music Festival in New York about 20 minutes early on Sunday night when he found out mid-song that Kim Kardashian had been robbed at gunpoint in Paris.
After taking the stage about a half-hour late with fireworks set to the "Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1" drop, West was in the middle of performing "Heartless" when he was pulled to the side and stopped the song.
"I'm sorry," he told the crowd. "I have a family emergency. I have to stop the show."
He then walked off stage, and shortly afterward Meadows staff told the audience that West would not be returning.
Kardashian spoke with police and left France early Monday, where she was attending Paris Fashion Week with her family. No one was hurt in the incident, and it's unclear if her children or any other members of Kardashian's family were present.
